Rebecca Cronk
Head DirectorRebecca Cronk is in her 15th year of teaching Band. She resides in Murphy with her husband Brian of 12 years and her two children Morgan(9) and Trevor(4).
Mrs. Cronk is originally from the Chicago area and did some under-graduate work at Northern Illinois University, but moved to Texas upon receiving a trumpet scholarship from the University of North Texas in 1989. While she attended the University of North Texas, Mrs. Cronk was an active member in the lab bands, concert bands and the marching band. She studied trumpet with Dr. Leonard Candelaria and David Bilger. Rebecca completed her Bachelors degree in December of 1992.
Before joining the faculty at Frankford Middle School, Rebecca taught at Heritage Middle School in the Grapevine/Colleyville ISD. She started her career there as associate director of bands in 1993. Under her direction, the bands at Heritage Middle School earned 10 UIL "Sweepstakes" awards along with 12 consecutive "Superior" ratings at Sandy Lake band contest. Mrs. Cronk was also the recipient of the "friend of Students" award given by the Heritage Middle School PTA in 2005.
Rebecca Cronk is very excited to be a part of the music faculty in the Plano Independent School District and loves teaching at Frankford. She looks forward to creating a positive music education experience for all band members. Rebecca's goal is that each student develops a lifelong love and passion for music.
