Kimberly Sato
Assistant DirectorThis is Kimberly Sato's second year teaching at Frankford Middle School and her seventh year teaching band. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University and her Master of Music in Flute Performance (minor in Musicology) from the University of North Texas.
During this time, she performed in masterclasses for such notable flutists as Jean-Pierre Rampal, James Galway and Susan Milan. Another musical interest of Mrs. Sato's is the Baroque Flute, a one-keyed wooden flute copied from flutes of the early 1700's. On this instrument, she has won various competitions including the National Flute Association Baroque Masterclass Competition and, as a result, performed at the National Flute Convention in 1999. She continues to perform on the modern flute as well and is a member of the Plano Community Band.
Mrs. Sato is married to Akira Sato and has two mischievous cats, Tiger and Annika.
